For many years anglers have travelled the length and breadth of the country to fish the famous waterways that have become known as “The Fens”. Most have come in search of the plentiful pike population, always with the dream of landing an elusive Fenland monster.
However up until now relatively little has been written about this area, but in this new book two acclaimed experts of the area combine to share their knowledge of the area and its pike to produce what should become any Fenland pike fisherman’s bible.
The book includes chapters on the turbulent history of the Fens, how the drains came to be, and why they did, plus it gives a detailed history and ‘how to fish’, of each of the major waters in the Fens.
The two main Authors,Denis Moules and Mark Barrett, have been joined by other guest contributors who have been hand- picked for their knowledge of a method, or for their stories of the most elusive of all Fenland pike- a Fenland thirty. There are also interviews with three of the main pioneers of Fenland pike fishing, who give their views on the birth and sometimes decline of the area.
With 264 pages, lavishly illustrated with colour photographs, line drawings, cartoons and illustrations, plus a front cover painting by acclaimed angling artist Stephen Harper, this is a book that is not only a mine of information, but a visual feast to excite and inspire the pike angler, both now and into the future, and a book that you will come back to time and time again.

The carefully planned refurbishment of the shop is now finally complete. The summer season is well under way with fishing starting to pick up after spawning and with England's dismal performance(as usual!) in the world cup customers are flooding in to escape for a little relaxation. Lots of new gear is being introduced to the current stock and we look forward to building the site to include much more of the shops' stock which include for the long awaited match and sea section of the site.
